There's a book in everyone!
Each of us has a story to tell, whether it's real or imaginary, fact or fiction. We all have interests, hobbies, skills, knowledge, experiences, beliefs, opinions and ideas. Whatever the subject you can write about it and publish on African eBooks.

Below are the essential steps and tips that need to be followed to create an ebook that will be both desirable and marketable.

  1. YOUR HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
Writing about one of your favorite hobbies and interests would make a good topic as you would be able to write about it passionately as well as from a position of authority

You probably have ten potential books inside you just based on the things you enjoy in life - cars, sport, cooking, gardening, beer, movies, music, pets, computers,...

The fact that you'll be writing about something you enjoy will make researching, writing and promoting your book much easier (and much more satisfying than tackling a subject that you know well, but don't enjoy).
  2. THINK ABOUT THE THINGS YOU KNOW
One piece of knowledge or one experience is all you may need to create a top-selling ebook.
For example, we've all had negative experiences during the course of our lives (ripped off in a scam, serious illness, death of a loved one, addiction, backache, etc). Perhaps you can show others how they can prepare for - or cope with - a negative experience that you've already been through.

Do you know a great way to lose weight? Do you know a way to get through the working week without suffering from stress? Do you know how to wallpaper a bedroom? Have you recently bought a house and learned an important lesson that can benefit others?

There's an infinite amount of simple ideas you can turn into great products. You just need to identify them.

  3. STYLE AND CONTENT
    When writing your ebook keep in mind the following principles;
    • Keep your content original
    • Write as if you are talking to a friend, that way. your unique personality comes through.
    • Use everyday language and avoid long words that aren't understandable by the average reader.

But, before you do anything else you should determine whether or not you want to make a living as a book author. This is extremely important for a couple of reasons. Some authors just like to write, while others want to write books for a living. Deciding which one you are is very important because it may determine what kinds of books you begin to write.

Will you write fiction or nonfiction?

FICTION: It can be artful, emotional, imaginative, thought provoking, and entertaining. However, fiction is purchased mainly for its entertainment value and has to compete for entertainment nairas.

You will be competing with movies, football, music, festivals and anything else that entertains the population and of course other works of similar fiction.

NON-FICTION: In general, nonfiction falls into the category of informational types of books where artful, emotional, imaginative, thought provoking language and how to use it is not necessary. You won't need a literary arts degree to write nonfiction and nonfiction doesn't compete for entertainment money like fiction. The reason people buy informational types of books is to save time and money, or enhance their lives in some way. This is what most people are interested in anyway and a perfect marriage for information book writers. Rarely are two books exactly alike. With your unique perspective and personality, your competition is just about zero.
